This whole elementary blog idea started in 2000 when a few RHS classmates' emails spread like wildfire. This blog consists mostly of conversations regarding our 40th reunion and, of course, memories from our elementary days. As we approach our 45th reunion, please share your comments, memories and wishes on our RHS Class of '70 Facebook page. Let's start with... Are you interested in reuniting with your elementary classmates again in 2015?
So... how do I blog????
Please add a comment to any of these conversations! Look over our selection of blogs in the right menu, including those within past months. When you are feeling inspired, simply type a mesage in the "Post a Comment" text box. Underneath the comment box, open the "comment as" menu and select "name/url" (unless you have a listed profile). Type your name; you may leave the url blank. You may choose to be anonymous or include your name within the text as well. Select "Preview" if you would like to see what your comment will look like before it is published. You may choose to delete a message after it is published but it will leave a message stating "comment removed by blogger". Come on...You know you want to join us!

Conversation starters...
The Ho-Ho-Kus hill, Ben's 5&10, Cole's Pond, the Corner Store, bike inspections......
I like the pictures. They're priceless. When I told my kids they were there they got excited. So I showed them and asked them to pick me out. They struggled and eventually gave up. I asked them what the problem was. They said that all the kids had hair. Go figure.
Thanks for the new photos, Bob. I will make a slide show of them and any others I collect. You did solve a mystery Peggy and I had. CAMP GREEN!!!!! All we could think of was Camp Bernie and, as Peggy recalled better than I, we did NOT go there. What do you remember about Camp Greene?
Well the first thing that comes to mind is that its the place where I got in trouble with Dave Scherer for trying to peek into the girls showers.
I also remember going there some years later with Stan Brown and others in a bike expedition. As I recall it was part of, or next to Ringwood State Park? I remember that it was one of the first times we got to meet up with the Ridge kids - those who would later become our classmates at GW. There was a teacher there, Mr. Minervini? Who demonstrated scuba diving for us. It sounded like fun but ended up being sort of stupid as we all stood around this pond watching bubbles come up - couldn't see anything else. Overall, it was a good experience. BTW, I'm not sure of the spelling there - could just easily be Green vs. Greene. But Greene seems a little more upscale to me so I went with that.
Love these pictures, although I'm still not sure who some are... Camp Greene, ah yes, I think the Travell kids were also there that week. I remember I punched Richard DeMott and gave him a black eye. I can't remember why I did that...it was probably a bid for attention. I still do the same thing now.... LOLOLOL. Watch out guys!
Richard DeMott! I remember stepping on his hiking boots. It was meant to be a friendly gesture - you know, hey man, cool boots. He nearly bit my head off. I should have figured something was up because he was all by himself. From what I heard of him afterwards he's probably in jail now.
Richard DeMott indeed. Haven't though of him for 45 years. As a smallish kid in grade school I steered clear of the crazies, including Mr. DeMott. Never know, though, he might be district attorney of a major city somewhere, and running for governor.
